The National Service Scheme  
Popularly known as NSS is and educational experiment in community service, under Ministry of Youth Affairs National Service Scheme (NSS) endeavours at moving social consciousness of the youth and with an overall personality development of the students through community service. Present Thrust Areas are:
1. A Camp of 7 days’ duration conducted in an adopted village or slum area on specific theme every year.
2. Regular community service (120 hours in a year) 
3. Improvement of campuses
4. Adult and non-formal education
5. Tree Plantation
6. Blood donation
7. Health, nutrition, family welfare campaigns
8. Constructive work in adopted villages and slums
9. Construction of durable assets
10. Work in welfare institutions
11. Disaster management 
12. Inter-State Tour
